Just two hours before Passover, lone soldier Moshe K. found out that he would have to stay on base for the holiday. Moshe called LIBI partner Chayal El Chayal, asking for their assistance in preparing for a holiday on base. The organization jumped into action, delivering extra matzo, food, grape juice and chocolate just in time for the holiday.
Lone soldiers like Moshe, who have made the courageous decision to serve in the IDF, often leave behind their home countries, families and friends. Passover, a holiday centered around the family, can prove to be a difficult time without these support networks, especially for those on base, protecting the people of Israel, while the rest of the country celebrates their freedom from slavery and deliverance to their Promised Land.
On Passover, organizations like American Friends of LIBI and Chayal El Chayal show soldiers that while they may be 'lone,' they are not 'alone.' Thanks to their efforts, Moshe understood that even without immediate family in the country, he does indeed have a family in Israel.
Moshe had a wonderful holiday on base, protecting the state of Israel while celebrating the holiday of freedom, and now YOU can help other lone soldiers like Moshe feel truly at home in Israel.
"Thank you guys so much! It means so much to me to have you as my family here in Israel!" - Moshe K.
This Passover, every donation you make will be matched by our partners, doubling your impact. We need YOUR help in providing hundreds of lone soldiers with Seders and holiday meals. Support lone soldiers - support American Friends of LIBI.
Passover is almost here! This year, Passover will be celebrated from Friday evening until the next Friday evening, April 19-26. On the first night of Passover in Israel (and the first two nights outside of Israel) Jews around the world will host Passover Seders, recounting the tale of the Jewish journey from slavery in Egypt to freedom in the Promised Land of Israel. Participate in the Passover tradition and support the IDF by sending soldiers food packages and sponsoring a Seder today!
