Chof Av, the day the mekubal, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson a'h, passed away, is an auspicious time for innumerable blessings. And who doesn't need a blessing, especially in these uncertain times?
Today, it's not just about the mitzva of tzedaka. This is your zechus to join in the mitzva of the Rebbe's kibud av. To be a partner in resurrecting Judaism in the baal ha'hilula's place of exile, in Kazakhstan, and merit the Rebbe's unlimited blessing!
Every year, at the farbrengen for Chof Av, the Rebbe made an appeal l'ilui his father's neshama. The Rebbe (sicha of Chof Menachem Av 5739) even used unusual terminology, saying:
"Every person should give according to the pure generosity of his heart and add to what he decided to give, not a little bit but a lot, a lot … Surely Hashem will increase His measure … to 500 times that amount!"
When the Rebbe concluded this rare promise to the blessing of “500 times that more” for donors, he began singing, “V'Harikosi Lochem Bracha Ad Bli Dai.”
UNENDING MESIRUS NEFESH
The legacy of Kazakhstan is one of tremendous mesirus nefesh. First, the mesirus nefesh of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak who was moser nefesh, literally, in that distant place where he is buried, and that of his wife, Rebbetzin Chana, who ensured that her husband would be able to write his chiddushei Torah.
This mesirus nefesh is still beating strong! It continues with the shluchim, who came to these distant, foreign reaches of Kazakhstan for the sole purpose of breathing a spirit of Judaism and spreading the wellsprings of the teachings of Chassidus.
Today, after twenty-five years of outreach, the seeds planted by Rabbi Levi Yitzchak have sprouted and bear fruits with seven Jewish centers, overseeing a vast empire of Torah and chessed in Alma Ata, Nur-Sultan, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar and Shymkent.
Right now, it is your privilege to take part in this shlichus empire and merit the rare bracha of 500x.
