Reach millions and empower students on campus Together, we can reclaim Israel’s narrative
Anti-Israel extremism on college campuses is gaining momentum. BDS and others are employing sophisticated tactics to tell a one-sided story that demonizes Israeli soldiers and Israelis.
To change the climate on campus, we must reclaim Israel’s narrative. We must show the true heart, multiculturalism, and humanity of Israelis and the IDF. And through the power of film. . .we can reach millions.
Our new film - Mekonen: The Journey of an Ethiopian Jew - does just that. It features the inspiring story of Beneath the Helmet co-star Mekonen Abeba. It's a story of struggle, friendship and the determination to overcome adversity.
The film follows Mekonen’s journey immigrating to Israel from an Ethiopian village after his father’s death. Through his remarkable dedication and the support of his Israeli community, Mekonen overcomes many challenges and perseveres to become a paratrooper and officer in the IDF.
This is a film that effectively highlights the sensitive, human, contributing side of the IDF and - by extension - Israel at large. Join us in sharing this important story!

However, it’s ALL or NOTHING
If we don’t reach our goal, we have to return all donations. If we succeed, Jerusalem U receives $30,000 to complete production and launch an international awareness campaign for Israel.
We Can Do It!
Jerusalem U’s films have already reached millions, changing hearts, minds and perceptions.
Through PBS, Newsmax, Netflix and others, along with hundreds of screenings across America, our films have entered mainstream culture. Campus organizations, activists and Israel advocates also use our films for educational programs and awareness campaigns.
We believe that through the power of Mekonen, we can build a movement to tell the world the truth about Israelis.
