One in one hundred babies is born with congenital heart disease. Almost one third of them will need surgery during their first twelve months, many in the first few weeks of life. In developing countries, these conditions are often death sentences because they cannot be treated. Presently, there are over 1,000 children on the waiting list for Save a Child’s Heart – 1,000 young lives that need to be saved.
Save A Child’s Heart (SCH) saves the lives of these children.

My time with the kids at Save a Child’s Heart was a true highlight of my time in Israel last fall. The children were awesome, and the generosity of all involved was incredible. The work that they are doing is amazing in so many different ways.

They are currently:

  • Providing lifesaving cardiac surgery for children from developing countries, on the physician’s own time
  • Providing a loving home for these children for an average of 3 months while in Israel
  • Training surgeons from these countries to help save even more lives
  • Demonstrating the ability to help others without prejudice.
  • At Save a Child’s heart, there is no discriminating. Every child deserves the best medical treatment available, regardless of nationality, religion, race or financial situation.

I can’t perform surgery, but I am committed to helping to save one more child with this campaign.
