Expanding the walls does not simply mean building new walls. It means bringing the light of the  Beit Midrash into people’s lives. It means being a part of the astounding revelation of Dvar Hashem which is renewed each day. It means connecting the Torah of Moshe to our daily lives and to the days that lie ahead.

Expanding the walls can also be viewed from a physical perspective. It means building permanent homes for our Avreichim, continuing to develop the higher Beit Midrash and the Yeshiva in general, and finding new ways to bring meaningful Torah to the students residing outside the Yeshiva’s physical walls.

In the year of Covid the Torah of Otniel flowed far beyond the walls of the Beit Midrash, much like the clear waters which flow from the hills of Hebron to sustain the land. The thirst for this spiritual water has deepened and therefore we must expand the walls and let the waters quench this thirst.
